My Hard Reset.
The Story
My name is Chris Shea, and in late July 2025, my life changed. I had fallen off the sober wagon and started drinking again after nearly a full year of sobriety. I convinced myself that I wasn’t really an alcoholic. I began drinking again on May 31st, just eight days before hitting my one-year mark sober. That didn’t end well. On July 26th, I was drunk and got into a serious scooter accident that left me with five skull fractures (one causing brain damage), thirteen rib fractures across seven ribs, and a shattered right clavicle. The impact tore muscle throughout my chest and shoulder, and I spent two weeks in a coma and forty days in Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. The doctors told my family I’d either die or wake up as someone else, with half my brain gone. But they were wrong. I woke up still me, in pain, but aware that I needed to reset in the hardest way possible. Healing became my full-time job, and it taught me that sometimes the biggest resets come from the worst crashes.
That’s why Rocky Mountain Reset exists, to turn that pain and healing into something that helps others start again too. With every item sold, $2 Canadian is donated to organizations and community groups dedicated to helping people reset their lives, whether that means recovery from addiction, rebuilding after loss, or finding a fresh start in the Rockies and beyond. I’ve spent over 22 years working as an electrician, mostly out of town, but now that I have a young son, I want to build something that lets me stay home, something meaningful that still supports my family. This brand is part of that new chapter. Every purchase helps fund real resets for others, while also helping me build a life rooted in purpose, family, and home.
